Departing from the cruise ship terminal in Naples, this private Pompeii tour will take you on a winding journey through the history of Pompeii and the roads along the stunning Amalfi Coast.

Your English-speaking driver will be a native of the region, can answer all of your questions, and take you on the most scenic routes to your destinations. This day tour includes a short drive to the ancient Roman remains at Pompeii, where you will have two hours to explore the fantastic ruins of the town.

In the modern city of Pompeii, you will find the preserved ancient city of Pompeii; with this archaeological and cultural treasure, the ghosts and echoes of history can still be seen and heard in the ruins of the ancient Roman city. You can wander 2000-year-old roads and get a glimpse into the temples and villas of the old town. You will see everything from colorful, lively frescoes and mosaics to the city's ghostly, white stone people, frozen in time forever. You'll have two hours to explore the history and culture of Italy in Pompeii before breaking for lunch.

After a lunch break, you will then hit the Coast Road, which wraps itself around the coastline, offering vistas that blur into the distant horizon and precarious views of the crashing waves below. Your views of the islands of Capri, Ischia, and Procida will make for beautiful photographs, as will the mythical vista of Mount Vesuvius.

This is followed by a short drive to Sorrento and Positano, two beautiful towns on the delightful Amalfi coast.

You'll stop in Sorrento, which is famous for its lemons and a liqueur made from them called limoncello. The cliffs and the narrow roads that curve around and through them make for beautiful photos, as do the Marina Grande and Marina Piccolo, two ports that offer stunning sea views.

From Sorrento, you will drive to Positano; you will be able to visit the center and the fashionable streets of the chicest city on the Amalfi Coast.

Finally, take in spectacular views of Positano and the Amalfi coast on your way back to the port. Your return to the Port of Naples will be scheduled to tally with the times needed for embarkation.

Your excursion will start at Naples Port, where your driver will collect you directly at the pier below your ship.
