Are you done with Colosseum, Vatican, Trevi Fountain and the crowds? Take a break from the Eternal City and immerse yourself in a calm and quiet garden of over 12 hectares in the heart of Rome.

Located in the district of Trastevere, the Botanical Garden of Rome lies over the ancient Baths of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus. At the end of the XV century relatives of Pope Sixtus IV Della Rovere built over that land a luxurious Villa that became house for Christine of Sweden by the end of XVII century. In 1736 the Villa and the gardens were acquired by the family Corsini, and in 1883 the Villa Corsini and all the land became the Botanical Garden of Rome.

Over 400 species of orchids, one of the richest bamboos collections of Europe, monumental secular trees and several charming areas such as the Japanese Garden, the Garden of the Aromas or the Corsini Greenhouse dating back to 1800 and full cactuses and succulent species.
