From Virtual Rome to the Colosseum: Forum and Palatine Discovery

Step into the world of Ancient Rome with a complete self-guided experience that brings together three of the city’s most important archaeological landmarks: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill.

The experience begins at a designated meeting point near the Forum and Palatine archaeological area. Here, a multilingual support team provides official admission assistance, helps with the first checks and security procedures, and offers practical support before the visit starts. The meeting location also includes restroom facilities and assistance for vulnerable guests.

Before entering the ruins, visitors enjoy a 30-minute multimedia 3D video that recreates Rome during the height of the Roman Empire. Produced by a studio with credits for National Geographic, this visual introduction helps bring the ancient city to life and makes it easier to imagine how Rome once appeared.

Explore the Roman Forum

After the multimedia introduction, the visit continues independently through the Roman Forum. This historic area was once the political, social, and religious center of Ancient Rome, and today visitors can discover the remains of ancient temples, basilicas, and important monuments at their own pace.

Palatine Hill

The route then continues to Palatine Hill, one of Rome’s most legendary locations and traditionally known as the birthplace of Rome. Later, it became the site of important imperial residences. From the hill, visitors can also enjoy some of the most memorable panoramic views over the archaeological area and the city.

Timed Entry to the Colosseum

The experience ends with timed entry to the Colosseum, scheduled 2 hours after the meeting point time. Inside the world-famous amphitheater, visitors can admire its impressive arches, monumental structure, and remarkable Roman engineering.
